My project is about dissolving seashells in varying acids and bases. I chose this project because of its real-life application. My conclusion was that the stronger acids made the shells weaker and removed the color. My project is important because our oceans are absorbing CO2 from the atmosphere, making them acidic and damaging shells.

The project was excellent in its connection to real-world ocean acidification with multiple pH levels tested. The observation of bubbling and pH changes showing the chemical reaction in action is a good way to show what happens in nature.
You did a good job with this project, and it’s clear you understand the chemistry behind ocean acidification. I like that you connected your experiment to a real environmental problem and explained how acids can dissolve calcium carbonate in seashells. .
