We decided to do a science project about whether or not chalk would dissolve in a cup of water. Then we talked about the temperature of the water we would use, and we added to our experiment to see whether chalk would dissolve faster in in hot water than cold.

I love how you discovered your science project by what you observed when you were playing with chalk! Your question about dissolving faster or slower depending on water temperature was interesting.
I wonder if there is a difference when you rinse off sidewalk chalk with hot water instead of cold? Science makes you wonder!
Wow! I loved learning about your project on how chalk dissolves in different temperatures of water. I thought it was so cool how you replicated your experiment with different colors of chalk. My favorite part was seeing the different colors in the cups. You asked exciting questions and documented your work with attention to detail. I can’t wait to see what your class discovers next!
What a great experience for these young learners! It’s exciting when “real” life hands us opportunities to learn and explore. BRAVO:)
Sometimes making a big mess can turn into great science! Go Kindergarten!
Yay, congratulations, young scientists , on getting your project into SARSEF 2026! I specially loved the line in your project that read: some students want to be scientists when they grow up. Stay curious and best of luck!
