Applied Technology

Grade:

Teacher:
Alexandria Vaughn

1. What is your project about? My project is about building a successful puzzle flipper to make puzzle flipping easier and faster. That way people who want to put puzzles up as decorations can flip them faster. 1. Why did you choose this project? I chose this project because my family always builds and flips puzzles to hang up on the wall. I wanted to make the process faster and easier so we could put more up at a time. 1. What was your result/overall conclusion? I found out that the outcome really depends on the material used, and how that material is used. 1. Why is your project important? My project is important because it can help people who want to put up puzzles as decoration, and have a fast and easier way to flip those puzzles over.

  1. Your project demonstrates impressive initiative and thoughtful engineering for a young innovator, as you conducted meaningful background research on plastics and wood selection, established clear design criteria and constraints, developed and tested multiple prototypes with measurable data collection, creatively analyzed real-world solutions to improve your own design, and presented your process -from sketches to evaluation- with clarity, reflection, and professionalism that reflects both strong problem-solving skills and a genuine engineering mindset.
