My project is about structural engineering. I tested what material would be best to make a structure out of that will hold up better in water. I chose this project because how structures are made interests me. My results highlighted the importance of having a good base and using material that allowed for a pitched roof. My project is important because structures keep people safe and are always utilized.
The student clearly demonstrated care in addressing the challenge of designing a structure that can withstand rain, using well-defined criteria and constraints. The prototype was carefully built, tested, and monitored over time, and the graphs and photos make the results easy to follow. Reflections on weaknesses in the base and ideas for improving the design show strong engineering thinking.
