Can we program a circuit to water a plant? My project is about creating a system using an arduino board, hydrometer, and water pump to create a machine that waters plants automatically based on their moisture level. I choose this project so that people who go on long vacations or business trips can have a way to make sure their house plants are perfectly healthy while their gone. The results were that the experiment was successful but not a permanent replacement.

  1. Your automatic plant watering system is an excellent example of thoughtful engineering, as you clearly identified a real-world problem, researched and selected appropriate components like an Arduino, moisture sensor, relay, and pump, designed a logical threshold-based control system in C++, improved your prototype through multiple iterations to fix overwatering and code glitches, validated your results with a controlled multi-day plant comparison experiment and data graph, and presented your work with strong visuals, honest analysis, and creative future ideas that reflect both technical growth and genuine innovation as a young scientist.
