Bubbles, BUBBLES Everywhere!

Physics and Astronomy

Grade:
PreK
Teacher:
Jennifer Russell

Our love of bubbles sparked some curiosity and desire to try to make stronger bubbles, and hopefully bigger ones, too!  Learning about surface tension and strengthening bubbles is essential for understanding fundamental physics, chemistry, and material science. This hands-on, practical science teaches elasticity, light and more, while strengthening critical thinking skills, and also being a lot of fun.  Through our project we not only learned about surface tension, following certain procedures while testing, and even deflation, we discovered that our bubble recipe was stronger than the store bought bubble solution!

  1. I see that you all have learned so much from your research on how to make the strongest bubble. The photos of your experiment show in great detail what you did for your experiment. Great job.

  2. What a fun experiment! Well done, young scientists . I wonder why sugar added to bubble recipe made the bubbles stronger and they deflated. did not pop at the 4th trial!?Weird. But cool!

  3. This is the best example of fun with Science. I loved the way scientific vocabulary words were slowly introduced to the little ones while they made their discovery through the project.
