Fish tanks can become dirty and unsafe for fish when not properly cleaned/maintained. With this project, I wanted to find if there was an efficient way to clean fish tanks without disposing the water and without using chemicals. In this experiment I tested if UV-C light could reduce harmful bacteria in a unmaintained freshwater fish tank. The manipulated variable was the use of UV-C light, and the responding variable was the amount of bacterial growth in the tank.

I am impressed with the amount of research you did for this project. Poster board was excellent and easy to follow.
Excellent practical application with clear before/after comparison using agar plates. Also, exhibited a good adaptation when initial tank water was too clean – switching to dirty filter water showed scientific flexibility.
