This project investigates whether the pattern used to place bacteria on a petri dish affects bacterial growth, placement, and growth rate. Scientists commonly use the streaking method to grow and isolate bacteria, but this study explores whether alternative patterns may produce different or improved results. This project is important because identifying a more effective technique could improve how bacteria are cultured in laboratories. Accurate bacterial isolation is essential in medical research, disease diagnosis, and the development of treatments. Researchers, doctors, and medicinal chemists could benefit from understanding whether certain patterns lead to clearer separation, faster growth, or more reliable results. Even small improvements in laboratory procedures can have significant impacts on scientific research and healthcare outcomes. The expected outcome is that different streaking patterns will produce noticeable differences in bacterial growth distribution and possibly growth rates.
