Project Description: My project was an add on backpack strap to reduce the pain caused by the original strap. My first prototype used foam for the cushioning and magnets to connect the two sides of the foam. I cut a slice of foam off a cube of the original foam and made sure it was long enough to fit around the strap. I modeled and printed two rectangles that would fit on both ends of the strip of foam. I put small circles in the rectangle and on the other I intruded it so the foam could fit in them. I used small magnets so the two ends would connect. The magnets weren’t strong enough. My second prototype was the same idea except I used velcro that was stronger and easier to attack, stay together, and pull apart. And the strip of foam was cut in a square shape for the velcro. And it was long enough to fit around the original strap. This one worked better than the first. For my third prototype I modeled two bigger rectangles and one should be extruded so it would fit in the second one. The second one was intruded so the first could fit in it and both of the other sides were intruded so the foam could fit in it. This one worked well but the strip of foam I cut was too long so it would get in the way. Overall I think my second prototype was the best. 1. What is your project about? My project was an add-on backpack strap to decrease the pain caused by the original strap. 1. Why did you choose this project? I chose this because the pain caused by the original strap would make your shoulder and back hurt a lot and that got really annoying. It would feel so uncomfortable. 1. What was your result/ overall conclusion? The overall conclusion of my project was good. Two out of three of my prototypes worked. They all decreased pain but the first and third weren't as good as the second. 1. Why is your project important? (Remember to put keywords for search!) My project is important because people's shoulders and backs can really get hurt and your body will get sore. It doesn’t feel good when this happens so I wanted to make something to decrease the pain caused by the strap. It will help a lot of people stop the pain. After that they can walk around without having the constant pain.

I love how you detailed the procedure you took to achieve this great work. Congratulations, I am very proud of the work you have done!
