A Sticky Situation

The purpose of my experiment was to find out which type of tape could hold the most pennies. I tested masking tape, double sided tape, painters tape, and scotch tape, by sticking each one to a surface adding pennies until the tape fell off. My hypothesis was that the masking tape would hold the most pennies because it seemed thick and strong. During the experiment, I counted how many pennies each tape could hold before falling. The result showed that masking tape held the most pennies. This experiment showed that different tapes can hold different amounts of weight.

  1. Nice experiment. It is amazing how much stickier some tapes are. Will you continue this experiment with different tapes or sizes of the pieces of tape?
