A Comparative Study of Zinnia Growth Using Various Types of Water

Water quality significantly affects plant growth because it influences nutrient availability, root absorption, and overall plant health. This study examined the effects of four types of water—tap water, carbonated water, distilled water, and saltwater—on the growth of zinnia plants by measuring plant height and observing overall development over a controlled experimental period. The results showed clear differences among the treatments: zinnias watered with tap water achieved the greatest average height, followed by those watered with carbonated water, then distilled water, while saltwater produced the least growth. These findings suggest that the minerals naturally present in tap water may enhance plant growth, while high salt content inhibits proper water absorption and development. Overall, the experiment demonstrates that water composition plays a critical role in plant growth and that tap water is the most effective option among those tested for promoting healthy zinnia development.
