This project shows how DNA can be extracted from strawberries and tests whether the ripeness of the strawberry affects how much DNA can be seen. Unripe, ripe, and overripe strawberries were tested using a simple extraction method. The results showed that overripe strawberries produced the most visible DNA, helping explain how cell structure affects DNA extraction.

Wonderful job exploring molecular biology through hands-on experimentation! I really liked how you asked a clear question about whether ripeness affects the amount of DNA and then tested unripe, ripe, and overripe strawberries to compare your results. Your step-by-step procedure was easy to follow, and you clearly understood how DNA extraction works. It’s especially impressive that you recognized when your hypothesis was incorrect and explained your findings honestly that’s real science! Your curiosity about how fruits contain DNA and how this connects to real-world biology shows strong scientific thinking. Keep asking questions and exploring the science behind everyday things you are building great laboratory and research skills!
You did a fantastic job with capturing the process of your experiment! Very thorough!
