What Makes Saturn's Rings so Unique?

Physics and Astronomy

Grade:
K
Teacher:
Joanne Jackson

This project shows how different materials orbiting Saturn create such unique looking rings. I acquired a new interest in the planets and wanted to learn more about Saturn and its rings. I learned that the size, color, and speed of objects affects how they look as rings. This project gives insight into how Saturn's rings are formed and why scientists observe them always changing.

  1. What an interesting project! I wasn’t sure how you were going to explore the rings of Saturn and found your experiment to be very creative. I like all of the different kinds of things you used to explore the rings and how you put them on a turntable for your tests. I hope you keep finding ways to explore the world and the universe using science!
