The Great Oobleck Drop

Physics and Astronomy
Ella Taliaferro

Nicole Tilicki

My project is about dropping all sorts of objects into oobleck, a shear-thickening Non-Newtonian fluid. The objects tested were wiffle balls, tennis balls, baseballs, cups with rocks, and boxes of screws. I conducted 3 separate experiments for a total of 50 drops. I learned about Non-Newtonian fluids, surface area, pressure, and density.
