The Effect of Time of Day on the Movement of Virus Within Households

The movement of pathogenic viruses within households is key to the development of mitigation and disinfection strategies. The objective of this project was to simulate the movement of viruses within households during different times of day, with transmission originating from a teen. Viral transmission was tracked based on concentrations of the viral surrogate, bacteriophage Phi X-174, found on ten different surfaces. The experiment was conducted during the morning, afternoon, and evening, to observe the impact of time of day on the movement of the virus.
