I designed and engineered a practical, inexpensive backstop for when my lacrosse balls miss my rebounder during practice. Balls that missed the rebounder put holes in our wooden gate, got lost in the bushes, or eaten by neighbors' dogs. My final Ball Beast prototype met my criteria of stopping balls that missed the rebounder, while also being sturdy and made of inexpensive, common materials. The Ball Beast is important because it is affordable, can be adapted to different rebounders, and helps kids get exercise and more practice.
