Testing Water Percolation in a Desert City

Plants and the Environment
Lilienne Lavo

Grade:
7
Teacher:
Hannah Ebner

My project was about testing the water percolation rates in different areas of my yard and seeing which site would have the fastest rate. I chose this project because I thought it would be interesting to know and is very useful when living in the desert. My hypothesis was proven true, and that sites soil composition helped the water percolate the fastest. This project is important because it will help us learn how to recharge our aquifer and help plants grow stronger here.
