What is your project about? Our project was on the different brands of sunscreens and which protected our skin the best. We had tested four different brands of sunscreen, two of which were sunscreen lotions and two were sunscreen spray. On a sunny day we applied each of the four sunscreens on our arms and backs and went outside to swim and do other outdoor activities for an hour and thirty minutes. Why did you choose this project? We chose this project because we both spend lots of time outside in the sun, and get burnt easily. We both decided on this project so we could figure out what brand of sunscreen protects our skin from the sun. We wanted to do this because we always get burnt and we wanted to see which would protect our skin the best

  1. Interesting! Living in Arizona definitely requires sunscreen use, and I like the idea of challenging manufacturers to keep improving their product! I wonder: some packaging gives a time limit notice—’one application good for 90 minutes’ – did these products do that? Would you say that their time limits are accurate? Also, good for you for making the sunscreens work through sweat, sun, and water! Are you curious about the effect of chlorine versus salt water versus fresh water on the sunscreen’s effectiveness?

    I am now motivated to read more about my sunscreens before choosing one – thanks so much!
