Burn wounds have been the most disregarded health care issue nowadays. Approximately 11 million cases have required medical attention, and 180,000 deaths happen annually because of burn wounds. To address this problem, this project focuses on making a biodegradable and antimicrobial wound dressing that treats burn wounds and monitors wound progression using traditional Mexican plant extracts.
