Amazing Abilities of sound #302

Studied how different materials affect sound. A science kit was used to build a sound generator and a speaker was placed into a box to box. The speaker was wired up to an amplifier to boost the sound level. Each of the sixteen materials from thin paper to thick glass were placed onto the speaker and the change in sound was evaluated. A sound analyzer app was used to measure the before and after sound level as a comparison. Prior to running the experiments, thoughts on the effect the material would have were made as well as the actual effect after the experiment. The most interesting results where the increase in sound level from the PVC pipe and the dramatic drop in sound level from the glass.
