ADD/ADHD? Just Add Music

Behavioral and Social Sciences
Lacie Beach

Grade:
10
Teacher:
Nicole Traicoff

To understand how music can affect an ADD/ADHD persons focus whilst doing school work. Each participant was either medically diagnosed or screened for ADD/ADHD. They were asked to complete five tests in which they listened to no music, classical, pop, jazz, or rock music. This allows you to see the different affects of each type of music, or lack there of, on the participants concentration. To determine how focused the participants were they were also asked to fill out a survey asking about their enjoyment of the music, their focus, and what distractions there were.

  1. This was a lot of work and you did an excellent job presenting your results in clear graphs. I also appreciate the points you make about how applicable it is to real life and that your results could help people understand more about their own distractibility and performance. Nicely done!

  2. Love the design of the board. It kept me engaged and the colors didn’t clash. The organization was clear and understandable. The font was easily readable and every new roe of info was important and useful
