"Washes are filled with tons of trash all the time. After a while the trash enters the deserts and roads, eventually hurting our desert life. I would like to see if there is a way to create a mechanism that will be able to clean up washes, before it affects our desert life. This mechanism will be able to work without human presence, except when being emptied and started. This tool should be able to accomplish my goal of helping save desert life from deadly pieces of trash. "
Love this! Such a relevant solution for a post-monsoon problem in Arizona. I really loved how you kept adjusting your prototype based on the “fails” you had.
It seems that something like this could really help our washes and environment. Maybe someone will take your idea and do it on a larger scale!

Thank you for participating this year in SARSEF! I hope your invention becomes a reality and we keep our washes and desert clean!
Loved hearing about your project, great job answering questions in your interview. Keep up the good work, Tucson needs kids like you to look after our environment!
