Snowflake FunChemical and Material Sciences
- Mrs. Brittney Morse
"We have been reading stories that take place in snowy settings, as well as read some nonfiction books about snowflakes. Since we do not get to see much snow where we live, we wanted to make our own snowflakes. We used hot water and various types/sizes of salts to create salt crystal snowflakes! We found that the best salt to use was regular table salt, as it dissolved best. We hoped that my using pink salt we would have a pink snowflake, but we did not get that one to grow well enough. This conclusion was important for us as young scientists because it gave up a chance to discuss why we thought things happened and make plans to try again with some adjustments! "
