"My project is about studying how phenolic extracts from Larrea tridentata (Commonly known as the creosote bush) can affect the growth of E. coli bacteria. The goal is to help contribute to the growing field of research for antibiotics, as antibiotic resistance is a very real threat to modern medicine. Providing sources of medication extracted directly from plants can help greatly for people who are looking for complementary medicine, people who struggle to afford other medication, or scientists who are looking to study compounds from specific species of plants."
