Elevation Equals Energy

Energy and Environmental Engineering
Abigail Bynum

Desire Kirchofer

"My project is about whether elevation affects the amount of energy a solar panel produces. I chose this project to find a more efficient way to produce energy using solar panels. My overall conclusion/result was that elevation does affect the amount of energy a solar panel produces and the the greater the elevation, the more energy produced by the solar panel. My project is important because it helps make solar panels more efficient and helps reduce carbon emissions."

  1. Excellent use of control groups between the trials. I agree it would be interesting to do the whole experiment in one day on Mt. Lemmon. I wonder if pollution has any impact? Tucson is probably more hazy with carbon emissions than Sierra Vista. Great project and well done!
