Chemical and Material Sciences
Hayley Carpenter

Grade:

Mrs. Elaine MacKenzie

"My project is how baking soda and baking powder effect the height of chocolate cake. I chose this project to learn more about how much chemistry is used in baking. I learned that adding more of either doesn't help. My project is important to show how much thought goes into baking."

  1. I enjoyed this project because of its impact on me. I now know what ingredients to use to accomplish my baking goals. I usually bake with my grandma and I will definitely bring this up to her.

  2. I love that you investigated something that you enjoyed doing. This information is good to know especially if you are interesting in baking. Your presentation was very colorful and well laid out. There really is chemistry in every thing we do. Keep up the good work! I hope you do another project again next year.
